Spring is the new Summer
I am LOVING this weather! It's like all of us Winnipeg'ers have been saving up weather credits for the last 3 years of crummy summers and freezing winters and are now FINALLY cashing them in for a short mild winter and (let's cross our fingers) a LOOONG HOT SUMMER!
In an act of total defiance I've already put away ALL my winter threads! That's right - usually an act like that would land us all in a snow storm within seconds, but for some reason I really think I can get away with it this year! (okay now that I've written it - I'm scared... I've never dared to write it out... in ARAIL FONT!!! If you need me I'll be under my bed with the furnace cranked till July)

Troy Scott juggles fire @ the Forks
Juggling fire is something I did not want to do. Ever. I know what I'm capable of and that's something not on the list. Naming all 7 Police Academy movies is my idea of living dangerous.
Easter Sunday. Perfect day in Winnipeg, I head out to the Forks to do what all Winnipegger’s love to do in the spring... look at the river. On our way we got a little to close to a 'Busk Stop' and I was called on to juggle a flaming torch.

Dan of 'the Dan Show' (can't bash the name now, can I?) called me over to juggle a torch with another volunteer... an a American... Now I'm fearing for my life... well that's a little extreme... I was worried about my hair product - I think it said NON-Flammable right?
Long story short, I did it, no one got hurt, I'm outta here. BUT WAIT! Part II of the show! I had to hold up the 113 pound Dan while HE juggled 5 flaming torches! I still don't know how he did it, but he really pulled it off! Great show - if you see him at the Forks sit and watch his show. Funny guy too. I just wish I could have seen it. Oh well - back to the burn ward for me. Oh by the way, the river is still there. You just can't leave the house can you?

This Easter grab some PEEPS!
Okay this is a PSA in honour of my old Rez roommate from M.S.U.... This Easter when you’re biting into your Mr. Solid and or Garfield/Ice Age/Shrek/Sponge Bob/Superman/Spider-man/Jem and the Holograms hollowed out Chocolate themed Easter mold - I want you to consider eating a Peep! No don't go all Dr. Lector on your pal - eat a MARSHMALLOW PEEP!

I know - I never ate them either until I went to the States for University... they love'em down there (just like us Canadians love our fry sauce! Or at least that’s what Americans TELL ME that we like that...) Where was I going with this? Oh yeah... Justin my old Rez roommate from Crane Hall! Yeah he loved his Peeps (Marshmallow ones anyways) He ate like 10 thousand of them our Easter breaks back in the day. I was eating my Mr. Solid as per normal and after I watched him eat the 1st 34 dozen boxes I finally asked him for one. It was like eating some kinda of mutant hybrid of a Marshmallow and Styrofoam. SO! Now that I've sold you on da Peeps, go buy some! Or better yet take a page from the book of my old roommate: Wait till the day after Easter and buy a million of them @ Wal-Mart for like 12 cents.
ENJOY!
Happy Easter Everyone! Err wait.... sigh. I mean HOPPY Easter Everyone!

Little Known Peeps Facts:

In the 1950’s it took 27 HOURS to make one PEEPS Chick. Today is takes six minutes.

Peeps are so popular; they have been the best selling NON-chocolate Easter candy for the last decade! (Wait aren’t they the ONLY NON-chocolate Easter candy?!)

SPRRRRING BREAK REEEEEEEEEEEEPORT!
Ahhh good to back in Winnipeg! The snow is gone, the birds are singing, and the Street Cleaner machines are racing the Pot Hole trucks. All is well.
I took off for a week to recharge in the country. Oh and by 'recharge' I mean going out on the road to get into wacky spring breakish situations!! Like going to some killer parties, solves some mysteries, and prank the Dean of some snob university. In other words 'good times'.
Cool huh?
Weeeeell about 2 days in I came to the conclusion that:
a) All my friends in the country have left... ten years ago. (The same time I did)
b) The RCMP kinda take offence when people who aren't police officers try and solve crimes. (With the help of their Cat)
c) I don't know a University Dean anymore. I know a Dean Legault... but it's not really the same.
So other than that - I had a typical Spring Break. Now I'm counting down for GOOOOOOOOOOOD FRIDAY!! I'm sure I'll find a Dean by then!
